yeh, now that I think about it, this episode is self-immolation. Getting rejected by every girl you fell in love with after building up feelings for so long makes you want to die, and if that became a consistent joke I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Not the person who commented but I assume her newfound fondness of him comes from him being the butt monkey of the episode. Watching butt monkeys tend to create a sense of pity and amusement in the viewer, making them more likeable as characters

All the characters here are so much more realistic compared to most romcoms out there (not all).
They all have such strong personalities and some charm, even the supposed childhood asshole was such a loveable character! I'm glad I discovered this Netflix anime

This is officially one of my top favourite romcoms now. Nah dude this reunion episode was amazing in every way! I enjoy literally every second of this show.

I watched one of these „anime summary videos“ and halfway through I decided to just watch this show for real and just jumped in with this episode. :v

Junta is really the best character in this show or maybe Saki if only she has more screen time. I often like kind, pure, and faithful characters. They don't have to be perfect or anything but they are clearly better than others. Arata from chihayafuru scarred me, he was really kind and he was the goal from the start but the author and fans pushed Taichi, someone who would force a kiss on a girl who likes someone else. Taichi is faithful and kind too don't get me wrong but he is no Arata. The ending of that series pushed me more away from female mc reverse harem anime and manga. Well I'm tired of harem anyways since best girl doesn't win and most of the heroines deserve to win it's hard to watch them hurt lol

I had a feeling Junta really was her childhood friend that she just forgot about since he was first introduced, glad that turned out to be the case. Of course now I just feel bad for him for a different reason, in that Anzu doesn't return his feelings for her. Either Anzu x Kazuki is gonna be endgame or they just remain good friends and she gets together with Junta (or, the most surprising twist, she doesn't end up with anybody).

Y’know I really liked Junta from the very start (I kinda figured he was a genuine childhood friend and I ended up getting spoiled about that fact before this ep lol) and this really solidified him as my fav out of the three. He’s genuinely so sweet, I always end up really liking the childhood friends and sometimes even preferring them over the first love interest lol 😭

Junta is just way too perfect for a human. He’s sooo kind that he reminds me of Tohru of Fruit’s basket. 🥲
